Macedon Ranges Community Energy Park

Moving the whole Macedon Ranges to Renewable Energy

Located deep in the pine forest to the south of Woodend, the Park will combine wind turbines, solar panels and batteries and is poised to generate enough clean electricity to match the local consumption of the entire Macedon Ranges.

MRSG is negotiating a partnership with a leading Australian renewable energy company to develop the Park (details to be announced soon). We will:

  • represent community interests and manage community investment
  • lead stakeholder engagement
  • secure a lease agreement for the land
  • help obtain consents, approvals and permits

As a co-developer and equity partner, MRSG aims to generate revenue to invest in more clean community generation projects (see Renewable Energy Fund below).

Additionally, local residents and businesses will be invited to buy a share of the Park.
